Solidly built; equipped with a multitude of handy features; and offering an extra-wide 56cm cut, the Hayter Harrier 56 Autodrive B.B.C is the perfect tool for large-scale domestic lawn-care.
What really makes it stand-out from the crowd is its blade-brake clutch; a high-spec feature that make it possible stop the blade spinning while keeping the engine running; thereby eliminating the need to stop and restart the engine each time you need to empty the catcher or cross a hard surface.
The Hayter Harrier 56 is exceptionally powerful, with its 190cc Briggs & Stratton 850 Ex Series EcoPlus engine which also produces 25% less exhaust emissions and 51% less evaporative emissions. The engine also employ B & S’s Ready Start technology for consistent first-pull starts without the need to prime; and they’re equipped with a premium air-filter for a lengthy service-life. An overhead-valve type configuration works to ensure quiet-running, fuel-efficient operation with reduced exhaust emissions.
Thanks to its die-cast aluminium cutter-deck, the Harrier 56 is strong and durable, and will not rust. A hardwearing polymer lining on the deck’s underside lessens blade noise and makes cleaning easy; while a finned undercarriage noticeably improves performance in terms of both cut and collection.
The full-width rear-roller on this model will not only lay-down a pronounced lawn-stripe; it also provides stability when mowing along the borders of veg-plots and flowerbeds. The roller is power-driven, so there’s no need to push the mower; and it has a split differential and a ribbed profile for easy, scalp-free turns.
For enhanced flexibility-of-use, Hayter have equipped the Harrier 56 with a seven-step cutting-height, which can be set as low as 13mm for a neat, ‘bowling-green’-style finish (adjustments are made using just a single lever).
Other important features include a very high-volume grassbag (70-litre) for increased productivity; and ball-bearing mounted front wheels for smooth operation over bumpy ground. An OPC (Operator Presence Control) ensures the safety of those in the vicinity of the mower.
